Call for Papers on Experimental Physics

In September 2010, Progress of Theoretical Physics began to accept papers on experimental works, and since that time, ``experimental physics" has appeared in the PTP Subject Index.

In January 2013, the broadening of our focus to include experimental physics will be complete, with an equal emphasis on experimental and theoretical research.   We are making this change in order to publish a more comprehensive and important journal, covering all fields of physics.   In conjunction with this change of focus, in January 2013, the name of our journal will also be changing.   The tentative name is Progress of Theoretical and Experimental Physics.   Simultaneously, publication of the journal will be transferred from the present PTP Office to the Physical Society of Japan.

Our Subject Index presently includes experimental studies in the following fields: high energy physics, nuclear physics, cosmic rays and astrophysics, beam physics, and instrumentation.   To accommodate works on such topics, we have added fifteen editors who are regarded as leaders in their fields (see list below).

We encourage authors of papers reporting the results of experimental physics research to submit their works to PTP.

Fifteen new editors overseeing experimental papers:

  • Chief Editor of experimental field:
Yorikiyo Nagashima   (Professor Emeritus at Osaka University)
  • High Energy Physics:
       Yoshitaka Kuno   (Osaka University)
Tomio Kobayashi   (ICEPP, The University of Tokyo)
       Junji Haba   (KEK)
Satoru Yamashita   (The University of Tokyo)
  • Nuclear Physics:
Yasuhiro Sakemi   (Cyclotron and Radioisotope Center, Tohoku University)
Susumu Shimoura   (Center for Nuclear Study, The University of Tokyo)
       Tomofumi Nagae   (Kyoto University)
       Ken-Ichi Fushimi   (Tokushima University)
  • Cosmic Rays and Astrophysics:
       Makio Shibata   (Yokohama National University)
       Hiroshi Tsunemi   (Osaka University)
Masayuki Nakahata   (ICRR, The University of Tokyo)
  • Beam Physics:
       Hideo Kodama   (KEK)
       Akira Goto   (RIKEN)
Hiroyuki Hama   (Research Center for Electron Photon Science, Tohoku University)
