Brief Summary of Each Supplement
Progress of Theoretical Physics Supplement No. 141
Selected Topics in the Boson Mapping
and Time-Dependent Hartree-Fock Methods
Edited by A. Kuriyama, K. Matsuyanagi, F. Sakata, K. Takada and M. Yamamura
The boson mapping and time-dependent Hartree-Fock methods play basic
roles in the microscopic theory of nuclear collective motions, which
aims at understanding collective phenomena in nuclei starting from
constituents (nucleons) of the system and their interactions.
This Supplement contains five articles on these subjects; the major part
of them are reviews on researches carried out by the editors and their
collaborators during the last two decades. These five articles are mutually
independent and can be read separately. The ideas and many-body techniques
discussed in this Supplement may be useful not only for nuclear structure
theory but also for other finite quantum systems.
This volume was edited on the occasion of the 70th birthday of Professor
Marumori, whose original papers became the starting points for new area of
research in nuclear many-body problem.
