Brief Summary of Each Supplement
Progress of Theoretical Physics Supplement No. 151
Quarks, Astrophysics and Space Physics
Proceedings of the Tokyo-Adelaide Joint Workshop
Edited by Tetsuo Hatsuda, Masaki Mori, Katsuhiko Sato and Toshio Terasawa
This volume is a Proceedings of the Tokyo-Adelaide Joint Workshop
``Quarks, Astrophysics and Space Physics" which was held
at the School of Science, University of Tokyo, (Jan. 6-10, 2003).
The basic concept of this workshop was to bring together
physicists working in nuclear physics, astrophysics and
space physics and to summarize the latest developments
in different areas as well as to have discussions in an
interdisciplinary atmosphere.
The first half of this volume contains lectures presented
at the plenary session of the workshop. The topics include
quantum chromodynamics, supernovae and neutron stars,
neutrino astrophysics, ultra-high energy cosmic rays,
space plasma physics and gravitational waves. The latter
half of this volume contains the talks given at the parallel
session I (quantum chromodynamics) and parallel session II
(ultra-high energy cosmic ray and space plasma physics).
Since this volume covers diverse but closely related subjects
in fundamental physics, we believe it will be useful not only
for experts but also for non-experts and students to get an
overall view of the recent progress in subatomic physics,
astrophysics and space physics.
