Title
Rebounds with a restitution coefficient larger than unity in nanocluster collisions
Abstract
We have been investigating the restitution coefficient in nanocluster collisions by using molecular dynamics.
Especially, we have found that the restitution coefficient can exceed unity in head-on collisions of nanoclusters.
In this presentation, we will discuss the origin of the restitution coefficient larger
than unity in head-on collisions between two identical nanoclusters [1].
It is confirmed that the temperature and the entropy of the nanocluters decrease
after the super rebounds by our molecular dynamics simulations.
It is also found that the initial metastable structure plays a key role for the emergence of the super rebounds.
