SYMMETRY AND DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS Krasnoyarsk (Russia) August 21 - 25, 2000 (first announcement) The purpose of the Conference is to bring together qualified scientists working in the area of applications of Lie groups to differential equations,but contributions in related areas will also be welcome. If you are interested in attending, please send email to the address given below. ----- GENERAL TOPICS ----- Symmetry analysis of differential and discrete equations, integrability, exact solutions, conservation laws, computer algebra and symmetry, groups and representations. The list is to be considered open, especially in view of possible new mathematical methods and applications. ----- PLACE AND TIME ----- Conference will be held at the Krasnoyarsk University, Russia, beginning Monday, August 21, and ending Friday, August 25. ----- KRASNOYARSK ------- KRASNOYARSK kray (region) occupies an area of Central Siberia and extends from the Severnaya Zemlya archipelago in the Arctic Ocean to the Sayan Mountains in the south. Krasnoyarsk is a city and administrative centre of Krasnoyarsk kray (region), east-central Russia. The city stands on both banks of the Enisey River where the river is crossed by the Trans-Siberian Railroad. One of the earliest Russian settlements in Siberia, it was founded as the fort of Krasny Yar in 1628 on the left bank of the Yenisey. Yenisey River is one of the longest rivers on the continent, flowing from south to north across central Russia. In the 1960s one of the largest hydroelectric stations in the world was constructed there on the Yenisey. Krasnoyarsk is famous for its nature. The "Stolby" was one of first reserves organized in the taiga zone of Russia. It holds unique granite-syenite rocks up to 100 metres high. ----- THE PROGRAMME ----- The programme comprises 30-minute oral presentations and poster sessions. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to select contributions for oral presentation. ----- FEE AND ACCOMMODATION ----- The conference fee covering materials, social programme and the Proceedings is US $90.
