Scope | Early thermalization and early entropy production is one of the largest unsolved puzzles in heavy-ion physics at RHIC. Until now, several mechanisms have been proposed, e.g. the Weibel instabilities coming from the anisotropic momentum distribution of partons in the initial stage, shear and bulk viscosities in the QGP, and decoherence of the initial nuclear wave functions. In the international molecule (closed small workshop), "Entropy production before QGP" (Aug.1-28), we discuss the mechanism of early thermalization and entropy production, try to construct a transport model, which contains these ideas, and try to analyze phenomenological consequences. During Aug.12-15, most of the molecule participants stay in Kyoto, and we hold a small workshop (two seminars / day) in this week. We would like to welcome the audience of this workshop. |
