"Holographic Spacetimes from Entanglement Renormalization"
Tadashi Takayanagi (YITP)
The discovery of AdS/CFT correspondence (or more generally, called holography) in string theory has largely changed our understandings of spacetimes in gravity. Especially, if we reconsider the AdS/CFT from quantum information theoretic viewpoints, we find a novel emergence of spacetime from tiny bits of quantum entamglement. This enables us to relate gravitational spacetimes to tensor networks, which in the context of AdS/CFT, correspond to so called entanglement renormalization (MERA). In this talk, I would like to overview these recent developments on the holographic spacetimes from the viewpoint of quantum entanglement.
