Access
You can get detailed information on transportation from KIX (NRT) to Yukawa Institute (YITP) from "Visitor's Info" in YITP webpage.
Unfortunately, time tables found in the above page are in Japanese (sorry for inconvenience..) and we prepared
an English version for main lines connecting JR Kyoto St. (or Shijo Kawaramachi - a downtown of Kyoto) and Yukawa Institute.
From JR Kyoto Station:
There are direct bus lines to YITP. Normally it will take 30-40 min from JR Kyoto station to YITP. But please keep in mind that it depends on traffic condition.
- No.17 for "Ginkakuji, Kinrin Shako". Get in at the bus stop "Kyoto Eki Mae (A2)" located just in front of JR Kyoto station. Convenient but sometimes takes quite long because of traffic jam. Please get off at "Kitashirakawa".
- No.206 for "Kita-Ohji Bus Terminal (via HIgashiyama Dori)". Get in at the stop "Kyoto Eki Mae (D2)". Make sure not to take No.206 "via Senbon Dori" (it will take quite long). Also connects Kyoto St. and Kyoto University. Yukawa Institute is 8-10 minutes walk from the bus stop "Hyakumanben".
The safest way is to take first Subway "Karasuma Line" and then change to the bus line No.203.
- Take subway "Karasuma Line" at the subway station "Kyoto" (located at the basement floor of the station building) for "Kokusai Kaikan".
- Get off at the station "Imadegawa". Then take the bus No.203 for "Ginkakuji, Kinrin Shako" (close to the Exit No.3) and get off at the stop "Kitashirakawa".
