Physics of the Quark-Gluon Plasma and
Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions
Proceedings of the International School on Physics of the Quark-Gluon
Plasma
and the YITP Workshop on Physics of Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions
Edited by Masayuki Asakawa and Osamu Miyamura
Since the RHIC experiments will start soon,
it is quite timely to have opportunities for intensive discussions
on recent progress on physics of Quark Gluon Plasma
and high temperature/density Quantum Chromo Dynamics.
For this purpose, International School on Physics of the Quark-Gluon Plasma
(June 3-6, 1997, Hiroshima) and the YITP Workshop on Physics of
Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions (June 9-11, YITP, Kyoto) have been held.
This volume contains 8 lectures and 16 presentations of
the school and 7 reviews/invited talks of the workshop.
The lectures cover topics of
dynamical evolution of ultrarelativistic nuclear collisions ,
signals and characteristics of Quark-Gluon Plasma ,
theory and phenomenology in physics of high temperature/density state and
experimental status and related analyses.
Recent results on finite temperature lattice QCD are also reviewed.
