Multiparticle Dynamics
Proceedings of XLI International Symposium on Multiparticle Dynamics (ISMD 2011)
Ed. by S. Asai, K. Homma, K. Itakura, A. Nakamura, K. Shigaki and Y. Yamazaki
This volume contains the proceedings of the 41st International
Symposium on Multiparticle Dynamics held September 26 - 30, 2011
on Miyajima Island, Hiroshima, Japan. This is the first meeting
in Japan of the series over forty years.
The multiparticle dynamics has a field of long history in the
high energy physics, where we have been pursuing higher and
higher energies in order to reveal fundamental matter.
After starting experiments at RHIC and LHC, more researchers
study from many aspects. In such a situation the researchers
have sometimes difficulty to know whole field, especially
the community becomes very huge.
We follow a tradition of the symposium, namely we had only
one session and all participants attended to it. In each
topic, a few speakers selected by the convener's discussion
gave a review talk for non-experts, and then very recent
results were reported. The subjects covered are
1. Hard or perturbative QCD
2. High Energy Density QCD
3. Forward and diffraction physics and cosmic rays
4. Soft interaction and multi-particle correlations
5. QCD phase diagram and related subjects
6. Higgs and beyond the standard model
in the modern high energy physics and
In addition to these subjects, we introduced physics with
high-intensity laser fields, which may provide a common
basis to study particle production in strong fields.
This volume would provide a nice snapshot of current activity
of the field for experts and would be a useful introductory
volume for non-experts who want to look over the recent
progress in the multiparticle dynamics.
