The Yukawa International Seminar 2011 (YKIS2011), ``Frontier Issues in Physics of Exotic Nuclei'', was held at the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics (YITP), Kyoto University, from October 11th to 15th, 2011. The long-term workshop ``Dynamics and Correlations in Exotic Nuclei'' (DCEN2011) was held jointly with YKIS2011 during the extended period from September 20th to October 28th, 2011, as a part of the Yukawa International Program for Quark-Hardron Sciences (YIPQS).

The physics of exotic nuclei began to develop dramatically in the late 1980s, when the neutron halo phenomenon was discovered. Since then, it has proved to be an extremely rich field, in which we have learned many new features of nuclear systems and interesting relations to astrophysical phenomena.

YKIS2011 was organized as a symposium in which frontier issues in the physics of exotic nuclei were discussed by leading experts and the active young researchers. Since many of these topics are pursued both experimentally and theoretically, an emphasis was put on the exchange of ideas between experimentalists and theorists.

In the long-term workshop, DCEN2011, the topics addressed concern mostly advances and problems in theoretical studies, covering a wide range of problems, from ab initio approaches to density functional theories, and from the cluster and resonance structures to direct and heavy ion reactions. We also promoted discussions with molecular and condensed matter theorists, and this inter-disciplinary interaction was quite successful.

This volume of the Supplement of Progress of Theoretical Physics contains manuscripts corresponding to the talks (both invited and contributed) given at YKIS2011. It also includes invited papers written by six of the participants in DCEN2011. We hope that these papers are useful for all people who are interested in the physics of exotic nuclei and related many-body theories.
