"IV characteristics of open quantum-dot systems with asymmetric interactions"

Akinori Nishino (Kanagawa University)

Abstract

We study the IV-characteristics of open quantum-dot systems described by the interacting resonant-level models. We do not assume a left-right symmetry for the interactions around the quantum dot. By using exact many-electron scattering eigenstates and an extension of the Landauer formula, we calculate the average electric current in the first order of the interaction parameters under finite bias voltages. We find that the asymmetry of the interactions changes the power law behavior of negative differential conductance that is observed for large bias voltages.
