About Yukawa-Kimura Prize
Nominations for the Kimura Prize are accepted annually between April and June, with the award ceremony held in January at the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics, Kyoto University. Research eligible for recognition
This prize is presented annually, in principle to one achievement, which has made outstanding contributions to theoretical studies in gravity, spacetime theory, field theory, or closely related areas. Recipients are expected to continue playing a leading role in these fields following the award.
Prize will be presented to recipients in the form of a certificate, a medal, and a supplementary prize (¥600,000 per award), thereby honouring their achievements.
How to Nominate
Nominations must be submitted by a third party. The scope of eligible research fields is interpreted broadly and flexibly, and we welcome recommendations of outstanding researchers across a wide range of disciplines. Submitted nomination materials will be considered not only for the current year but may also be carried over to the following year upon request from the nominator.
To nominate an achievement for the Yukawa-Kimura Prize, please submit the following documents (1–4) via email to the Selection Committee
(1) Nomination Form: Download the official nomination form here.(in Japanese)
(2) Statement of Recommendation: Approximately 1–2 pages (A4 size), outlining the candidate’s achievements. Please include a list of relevant publications.
(3) Brief Curriculum Vitae of the Candidate: As far as known to the nominator.
(4) Up to Three Key Publications: Please submit up to three representative papers that support the nomination.
