About YKIS2011
The symposium series Yukawa International Seminar (YKIS) has been one of the main international activities of YITP since 1978. The symposium is held annually, covering essentially all the fields of physics. The most recent one on low-energy nuclear physics was "Physics of Unstable Nuclei" (YKIS2001) held in 2001. In the present YKIS2011, we will focus on the following subjects and discuss forefront issues in physics of exotic nuclei including recent experimental and theoretical activities in this field.
Subjects to be discussed at YKIS2011 include:
- Shell evolution and single-particle motion
- Clustering and pair correlations
- Collectivity and shape dynamics
- Exotic excitations and exotic states
- Weakly bound and unbound nuclei
- Direct and compound reactions, radioactive decays involving exotic nuclei
- Dynamics and structure of superheavy nuclei
- Asymmetric matter at various conditions
- Exotic nuclei in astrophysics
- Large-scale calculations and ab-initio theories
