For Participants
This page describes important and practical information for those who will participate in the workshop.
When you come to Yukawa Institute..
If you come to Yukawa Institute for the first time, please take a look at
"YITP floor guide" first.
Reception Desk
When you come to YITP (or other workshop places), please proceed to the reception desk
and receive a congress kit, keys (an office key and a card key) etc.
The location of the reception desk is as follows.
- Nov.5 and 12
- Entrance hall of YITP building. Open at 8:30.
- Nov.9 (Mini-Symposium 1)
- Entrance hall of YITP building. Open at 9:00.
- Nov.16 (Mini-Symposium 2)
- Shiran Kaikan
(See campus maps for the location of
Shiran Kaikan). Open at 9:00.
- Nov.19 and 20
- Shiran Kaikan
(See campus maps for the location of
Shiran Kaikan). Open at 9:30.
- Nov.21-23 (Symposium)
- Clock Tower Centennial Hall
(see campus maps for the location).
Open at around 9:30 in front of the conference Hall.
- For other workshop days
- "YKIS2007 Secretarial Desk" (K106; see "YITP floor guide").
Open for : 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-16:00.
Reimbursement
Date and time of the reimbursement will be notified upon reception.
See a message card attached to your name tag.
To those who will receive the reimbursement of the airfare: make sure to bring the ticket(s) and the receipt.
Offices and Other Facilities
Offices
We have following rooms for participants' offices (for the location, see "YITP Floor Guide"):
- LIB1 and LIB2
- They are located in the library on the 3rd floor and accommodate 20 (max) people in total. Wireless/wired LAN is available.
They are parts of YITP library and eating/drinking is strictly prohibited.
Note that you need enter the library first to go to the offices. The main entrance of the library is open from 9:00 to 17:00.
During the closing time,
you need a card key to enter the library (and your office).
- K506 and K510
- They are the ordinary visitor's rooms and each accommodates 4 persons. Wired LAN is available.
- K406 and K508
- We partitioned two saloons to make office space. Each accommodates 8 persons. Wired LAN is available.
Because of the Fire Law, the doors of K406 and K508 should NOT be locked. Please make sure not to leave
your valuables in these rooms. Coffee/tea machine is available at K508.
In order to know if you have an office (desk),
try "Participant Search" for your name.
If an office number (e.g. K508) is indicated after a period of stay, a desk is available for (a part of)
the period.
Entrances
The main entrance of the YITP building is open from 8:00 to 18:00. At night (after 18:00), you need a card key
to enter the building through the night entrance (to the right of the main entrance;
see "YITP floor guide"). The instruction of the card key
is included in your congress kit.
Library and Computer Room
Tea and Coffee
An automatic coffee/tea server is available at K508 (saloon on the 5th floor). You can also use another tea/hot-water server
at K102 (a seminar room on the left of the main entrance).
If you are staying at LIB1 or LIB2, please DO NOT bring coffee/tea to your office. Thank you for your cooperation.
Connecting Your PC
Before Connecting...
YITP takes no responsibility for any damage you might by connecting your PC to the YITP network.
If you are using a Windows PC, we kindly ask that you install any one of Anti-Virus softwares before
connecting your PC to the network. For PCs running on other operating systems,
see a leaflet "Computer Facilities for Workshop Participants" in your congress bag. Thank you for your cooperation.
Network Overview
A special network for the workshop participants is available. To connect to the network, you need enter
the ID and the password common to all participants. They are written in a leaflet
"Computer Facilities for Workshop Participants" in your congress bag.
Read Sec.3 of the leaflet carefully before using the network.
- Wired:
- available at K206 (workshop room) as well as all offices (LIB-1, LIB-2, K406, K506, K508 and K510)
- Wireless:
- wireless network using WEP encryption is avaialble at K206 (workshop room) and two rooms LIB-1,2 in the library.
Printers
The following five printers are available:
- ps1: color printer at K104
- ps: color printer at K203 (computer room)
- ps3: color printer at library
- ps4: color printer at K406 (participant room on 4th floor)
- ps5: color printer at K508 (participant room on 5th floor)

Restaurants
On top of a cafeteria in the North Campus, there are many restaurants around YITP.

Because of limited space, only limited information is shown. We recommend to check the list of all participants first and
then use "Participant Search" to get more information on each participant.

Enter the family name (case-insensitive) and click "Search". (It might not work on "Opera".)
