Adler} \date{\null} \begin{document} \maketitle Four classes of equations: DRTL, DTL, RTL and TL (D=discrete, R=relativistic, TL=Toda type lattices) are of great importance in the modern 1+1-dimensional soliton theory. The contributions by Toda, Ruijsenaars, Hirota, Yamilov and Suris should be mentioned among the others. The aim of the present talk is to give an unified approach which allows to classify integrable cases and to establish some hidden links between these equations. The main idea can be illustrated for the RTL class of the form \[ q''= r(q')(q'_1h(q_1-q)-q'_{-1}h(q-q_{-1})+g(q_1-q)-g(q-q_{-1})). \] The momentum conservation law for this equation can be written in two equivalent forms: \[ (a'(q')-c(q-q_{-1}))'=(T-1)(q'h(q-q_{-1})+g(q-q_{-1})) \qquad\Leftrightarrow \]\[ (a'(q')-c(q_1-q))'=(T-1)(q'_{-1}h(q-q_{-1})+g(q-q_{-1})) \] where $a''=1/r,$ $c'=h$ and $T$ denotes shift $q\to q_1.$ This allows to introduce the pair of transformations \begin{eqnarray*} T_-:&& Q' = q'h(q-q_{-1})+g(q-q_{-1}), \quad Q_1-Q = a'(q')-c(q-q_{-1}), \\ T_+:&& \tilde Q' = q'_{-1}h(q-q_{-1})+g(q-q_{-1}), \quad \tilde Q_1-\tilde Q = a'(q')-c(q_1-q). \end{eqnarray*} The requirement that variables $Q$ and $\tilde Q$ satisfy the same equation is stringent enough and allows to obtain some finite list of integrable RTL. However, it does not work for the subclass of nonrelativistic lattices ($h=0$), which are characterized by the property $T_+=T_-.$ Nevertheless, this subclass does not require special treatment: it turns out that iterations of transformation $T^{-1}_-T_+$ for RTL are governed by some TL. Analogous results are valid for the DRTL class \[ (T_1-1)f(q-q_{-1,0}) +(T_2-1)g(q-q_{0,-1}) +(T_1T_2-1)h(q-q_{-1,-1}) = 0. \] It should be noticed that RTL can be obtained from DRTL by means of continuous limit. It is demonstrated that the flows corresponding to the cases $a=0$ and $b=0$ commute and generate an integrable hyperbolic equation on the sphere. The totally discrete Landau-Lifshitz equation is discussed which is obtained as the nonlinear superposition principle for the B\"acklund transformations. The stationary form of the equation (\ref{LLL}) gives a new example of integrable mapping, which is closely related to such well-known mappings, as Heisenberg spin chain and elliptic billiard \cite{Ves91}. We study Sklyanin transfer matrices after quantum group reduction in roots of unity. In this case Sklyanin transfer matrices satisfy a closed system of truncated functional equations. The algebraic reason for the truncation is found. The important role in proving of the result is performed by Zamolodchikov algebra . ---------------------------------------- Date: Nov 17 (Wed) 12:00-13:00 Place: Room 102, RIMS, Kyoto University Speaker: A.A.Belavin (Landau Institute for Theoretical Phishcs) Title: Correspondence between the XXZ model in roots of unity and the one-dimensional quantum Ising chain with different boundary conditions Abstract: We consider the integrable XXZ model with special open boundary conditions that renders its Hamiltonian ${SU(2)}_q$ symmetric, and the one-dimensional quantum Ising model with four different boundary conditions. We show that for each boundary condition the Ising quantum chain is exactly given by the Minimal Model of integrable lattice theory $LM(3, \, 4)$. This last theory is obtained as the result of the quantum group reduction of the XXZ model at anisotropy $\Delta=(q + q^{-1})/2=\sqrt{2}/2$, with a number of sites in the latter defined by the type of boundary conditions. ==============================================
