To establish from the theoretical side a new area of research fields, the quark-hadron sciences, which are to clarify various forms of matter under extreme conditions, in order to cope with a number of recent (and expected) experimental and observational results.
To make the Yukawa Institute a unique center for international collaborations in theoretical physics, by organizing 1 to 3 month-long scientific programs, where there will be a number of world-leading scientists constantly collaborating and a number of original, influential papers constantly produced.
To gain prospects for a yet new research field through advanced theoretical research on quark-hadron physics and related fields, and to promote research by young theoretical physicists in Japan and other Asian countries through daily interactions with world-leading scientists.
