YIPQS long-term and Nishinomiya-Yukawa memorial workshop
Novel Quantum States in Condensed Matter 2022
October 31 - December 2, 2022
Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics, Kyoto University
On this long-term workshop
In 2007, Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics (YITP) started new project "Yukawa International Program of Quark-Hadron Sciences (YIPQS )" funded by Japan Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. In this project, YITP hosts two or three long-term workshops each year, and invites leading experts to stimulate discussion and to foster collaborations among workshop participants.
This time, we hold "Novel Quantum States in Condensed Matter 2022 (NQS2022)", as a successor of the three long-term workshops held under the same title in the past (NQS2011, NQS2014, and NQS2017). Based on this background, we promote research exchange and collaboration in the themes related to novel quantum condensed states. In particular, we would like to promote active exchanges between young researchers in related fields and leading researchers by organizing tutorial lectures and informal seminars.
Schedule and Venue
Themes
Theory and experiment for the exotic states such as Majorana fermions
Novel quantum states in the strongly correlated systems such as spin liquids
Topological phases of the non-equilibrium, the open, and the non-Hermitian systems
Novel quantum phases in view of quantum field theory and other non-perturbative methods
Novel quantum phases and quantum information theory
Other related themes
Outline
First week (Oct.31-Nov.4) tutorial sessions
Second week (Nov.7-11) topological
Third week (Nov.14-18) topological/non-equilibrium
Fourth week (Nov.21-25) non-equilibrium / strong correlation
Fifth week (Nov.28-Dec.2) strong correlation
On top of the invited talks, 30-40 contributed ones are planned during the workshop (3-4 talks a day).
