I am a theoretical physicist working in string theory, field theory and related areas. I am particularly interested in string theory as a quantum theory of gravity, and so my research is primarily focused on black hole physics, for which quantum gravity effects are crucial.

Microscopic physics of black holes / ブラックホールの微視的物理
Black holes must be made of many microstates in order to account for its entropy. My recent research focuses on elucidating the nature of black-hole microstates using string theory methods, such as the AdS/CFT correspondence and supegravity. Some particular black-hole microstates are known to be realized as smooth horizonless solutions in classical supergravity, such as "superstrata". I am interested in how general microstates are realized, in (string-generalied) supergravity and, more generally, in the full string theory.

Exotic branes / エキゾチックブレーン
String theory is known to include extended objects called branes, such as D-branes, NS5-branes, and KK monopoles. Less known are "exotic branes", which are defects in spacetime around which there are non-trivial duality twists. They may play an important role in understanding non-perturbative phenomena in string theory, such as black holes.
弦理論にはDブレーン、NS5ブレーン、KKモノポールなどの拡がりを持っ た励起が存在することが知られていますが、その他にも「エキゾチックブレーン」というものが存在します。エキ ゾチックブレーンはその周りで双対性変換によって時空が捻られた時空 の欠陥と言えます。エキゾチックブレーンは、弦理論における非摂動物理、 例えばブラックホールの物理を理解するために重要となる可能性があります。
TT deformation / TT変形
TT deformation is a novel, interesting deformation of quantum field theory. It makes us rethink about the idea of renormalization, and also suggests new ways to understand the AdS/CFT correspondence and string theory.
